I recommend 100% linen sheets.

Portable air con unit - vents out of window but only need to open the window a small amount. And can be stored elsewhere the rest of the year 😊

I have no sheet recommendations, because as a nomad I use whatever bedding and cooling I find wherever I happen to be. And now I look forward to visiting Urbana sometime, because I just found Nina's place on Airbnb! It looks delightful, and it comes with a cat!

I listened all the way to the end, but it took me three times because of false starts because l have been up too late the last two nights so I feel asleep in the first five minutes because you two are SO soothing. Third time worked great though! A window unit or a mini ductless system for the wall. I know you like the sun, but that lets more heat into your room. Shade and curtain closing helps. These work well in the old bread and breakfasts I have stayed in. https://www.wayfair.com/home-improvement/sb0/air-conditioners-c420527.html. Very quiet, not in your window, not expensive, and they worked well. I like bamboo sheets, I think they stay cooler.

And, since hot air rises, so if you are on the second floor all of the air is moving up to you in your bedroom. You could leave you HVAC on for a designated time period with all draperies closed. When it is at a comfortable spot what you like, turn it off and put on your ceiling fan. Make sure your ceiling fan blades are turning in the summer direction not the winter direction.

On who has personal experiences that shade their views, both, but overall I think more conservatives than liberals. Some conservatives get very hurt personally and then it is a cause. Liberals get hurt on behalf of others, as long as they aren't women. You know the old saying, conservatives think women are private property and liberals think they are public property.

I guess you could bring in some ice packs.

I recommend a portable air conditioning unit for your bedroom, Cori. Most need to be vented out a window but with far less visual blockage than traditional in-window units. There are a few that do not require venting although they can raise the humidity level in rooms where used. Those are called evaporative coolers or ventless air conditioners.

I can't say specifically for cooling sheets or fabrics but I can say that wetting yourself down before you go to bed works great put on a wet T-shirt etc. this is the old-fashioned method for keeping cool while you sleep, wetting your clothes first

There now exist "inverse U" window units which hang down from the sill, only blocking a few inches of the window (and allowing for better insulation). They're cheaper than mini-split systems and easier to install.

Get a mini-split instead of a window unit. Won’t block light, works amazing.

A few years ago, I bought these pillowcases:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XX4MYD5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

They do feel cool to the touch, but I don’t know how much they actually help. For sheets, if I were in your situation, I’d probably go with linen.

Just use bamboo sheets, etc. They are always cool. But consider installing a split duct A/C unit. They go on the wall (not in the window) near the ceiling of your bedroom. They are incredibly powerful and efficient. Also a streamlined look. I have experienced them all over central and s america, the Caribbean and in Korea. I assume they are available in the USA.

I have not bought any cooling bedding. Have you tried going to bed with wet hair?

Thanks, Cori. I know you’re busy. And it was a weird thing. The world is sometimes simultaneously much smaller *and* much bigger than it seems.

Excited to hear Nina’s working on a new art project!

Corey, people who have never committed a crime, who pay taxes, and are upstanding people, are being deported.

What about Mohamed Sabry Soliman? No criminal history apart from traffic infractions, had jobs, and yet was in the US illegally long enough to plan and plot his horrific attack on Jewish citizens in Colorado. Can you defend his presence here in the US?

No, but it still doesn't justify what is going on now.

We need to create a way for those people to become legally entitled to live and work in the US.
